In this video I demonstrate how to use the extra controls now available in intelligent auto and intelligent auto plus modes. These are the background de-focus, exposure compensation and colour tint controls which are available in both stills and video modes.

Yes the same rule applies, Set the auto control all the way to the left so you get an aperture of f2.8, Set the bonsai tree up at about 1 metre away and zoom in to almost max zoom. If you need to move further back that's ok, and as long as the background is more than 2 meters from the tree it will be out of focus. keep to my rule of thumb background to be twice the subject to camera distance and it will work at apertures f2.8 to f4.

Thank you. I believe that this is the great benefit of these social media sites knowledge can be freely interchanged and gained if you find the right sources.

Sometimes the combination of simplicity in shooting and freedom to explore the subject more than worry about the technical aspects of getting the right camera exposure make a welcome change and it helps to understand more of how other users might experience the FZ200 and see if any "issues" surface.

Hi Graham, thanks for another excellent explanation video of the Fz200 I am following you stage by stage using my own camera and this video is what I have been practicing for the last few days as I want to use the depth of field to get some BLUR background in my images when taking images of my other Love Bonsai Trees. Will following your settings be good for taking images of Trees ! I know you achieved that with Flowers. Is it possible to completely get a Blurred Background !! with this method

Gee! On that FZ200 there is so much to learn about. If bought today, the time to know everything on this FZ200, the next generation will be out. :)

One question, the informations on the screen for your demonstration, is it the same as we could see in the viewfinder?

Great videos on the FZ200. Do you have a video that addresses when there is too much back lighting in the background causing the subject to come out under exposed? I know you touched on this briefly but I would like to see a more in depth step by step video on this. Thanks

You have a good voice for broadcasting (similar to Brian Walden, 80s)
