Hi guys! I’m new to photography and I just bought my Canon 1300D last month. Just today, I took my camera to capture some indoor photos and set it to auto mode. The kit lens came with 18-55mm lens with AF mode so I switch it to auto focus. I was using the viewfinder and every time I press the shutter button halfway, it did its usual auto focusing sound but what came after that is the flickering of the flash before the click sound of the auto focus. I switched to manual focus and it didn’t flicker then I turned on the live view, it was normal. It’s just that every time I use the viewfinder plus auto focusing, I always get this flickering flash with a buzz sound similar like those of electrical wirings. This usually happens when I take photos in dark places or in darker lightings. How do you think should I fix this? I’m worried I might have broken my DSLR.

Life saver haha 😂 I was trying to take pictures of my dog sleeping but the flash kept popping off and I didn’t want to blind her!

The flash on my canon eos rebel t3i pops up on any mode expect the no flash and the manual mode why???

Sometimes the camera is not good enough to detect when flash is needed. I take pictures of items I sell and the shadowing effect is bad but the "smart" camera decided I don't need flash. Terrible feature that needs to be overridden with a simple button.

So are you saying I can't turn the flash off in any other mode? I tried shooting in the other modes on the camera and in pretty much ALL of them the flash would pop up. I have to be doing something wrong, there has to be another way to keep the flashing from popping up when in other modes.
