This clip was taken from Kosmographia Episode 46:

Kosmographia Ep046 The Randall Carlson Podcast with Brothers of the Serpent – Kyle and Russ, Normal Guy Mike and GCREX admin Bradley, from 09/07/20. While reviewing the events around the catastrophic drainings of Glacial Lake Agassiz, the ongoing question arises: What was the impulse of energy that initiated the domino procession of megafloods? We continue to marvel at the oversized mid-continent spillways in the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin – investigating multiple sites with the “advanced viewer” on the USGS National Map website, with particular focus on the underfit rivers, the massive potholes along the St. Croix (that we explored with Graham Hancock in 2014), and the discharges thru Lakes Nipigon and Superior. RC then broadens the connotations of “lake” to include more temporary impoundments of meltwater, which leads to a critical assessment of the current model of Lake Missoula and its Ice Dam. And in preparation for next episodes special guest, Jerome Lesemann, we get an introduction to Canada's extensive drumlin fields…

Growing up through the 90's we were fully made to understand that modern rivers were absolutely responsible for cutting whatever valley they existed in. And if something didn't make sense they would just say it was glaciers. There's so much more going on in the history of the planet than we are led to believe.

I live on the former southern shores of lake Agassiz, right now as we sit. Beach sand still pours down driveways and we find fossils of bison here all the time! I live in Manitoba Canada. This is where this story really begins! Look up Manitoba escarpment. Its the shore of ancient lake Agassiz

It was only briefly mentioned, but it seems that Lake Agassiz had a secondary outlet into what it now the James River Basin in what was, initially, a laminar flow and then became increasingly channelized, particularly when you get to Souix Falls. Note that the Missouri River above Souix Falls has a much smaller river warren. Interesting. By the way, when I was about 10 I had a similar epiphany as RC did regarding the underfit Missouri River as we were driving across the river bottom near Jefferson City, Mo. Cheers!

Seeing the size the river used to be, is mind blowing. Imagine standing next to a river that's 4, 000x the volume of the Minnesota River, and it's about 80 miles wide!?!?!

Randall, I would like you to talk about the 'folklore' of the Colorado River cutting out the entire Grand Canyon, and also look at Valles Marinaris on Mars - the bigging canyon feature in the System.

Bellevue State Park in Iowa is a great example of this. Amazing water eroded bluffs

Thank you for explaining in clear language some things that I believe I had begun to intuitively suspect were possible reasons for the geological features that I have witnessed over many decades of exploring nature. When one views a modern-day river within its flood plain, and that river only occupies a small portion of the land within its drainage basin and fails to fill that drainage basin when a so-called 100-year rain event causes significant growth and historic flooding; a thinking person starts to wonder occasionally why there is so much land between the banks of the river, and the distant terrain features on both sides of the river that are significantly higher in elevation

Greetings from the BIG SKY. I've looked the Missouri River over for 73 years and it seems to be an 'underfit' river to me.

Randall! I love the content you are producing! I grew up just South of Binghamton NY, and have always felt that the Susquehanna River was an under fit river. Do you think you could take a peek at the area and give us an opinion? I am focusing specifically on Great bend Pennsylvania.

What if the ice sheet over Prince George BC wasn't flat but sitting on an angle with the high points on the coastal mountains and then it drains SSE towards the scablands? I also could believe that Prince George BC is sitting on top of a resurgent dome from an impactor.

Utah has underfit rivers in massive eroded canyons. How does this area fit in the YD period?
