How a puzzle game with portals managed to tell such an intriguing story, I will never understand. Valve makes SUCH good games!
- HL/HL2, still considered by some the best game of all time
- L4D/L4D2, probably the best zombie games ever made
- CS:GO, one of the biggest Esports games there is, which has been going strong for over 20 years
- HL Halyx, by far the most polished VR there was at time of release.
- Portal/Portal 2, probably the best 3D puzzle game ever made.

I only recently played Portal and 2 for the first time in my life a couple months ago and I was fucking blown away by it. It was far from what I was expecting, especially as far as storytelling goes. If you’re playing it for the first time, definitely look out for secret rooms and things like that because there’s a lot of them and a lot of the story is told through the environment. It’s definitely rewarding finding them on your own, especially since some of them are very difficult to find! Those games are just so much fun. Definitely in my list of top tier games I’ve ever played. The best way I can describe it is it finally felt like the first game I’ve played in a LONG fucking time that genuinely felt like a passion project and like real work was put into it. And they were made something like 11 and 15 years ago! I’m now convinced games were just genuinely better back in the day and it makes me sad…

This song literally means goodbye… technically “goodbye my dear”. It just gives me chills, how it makes you reflect on your journey as a player. I played this game when I was very young, and couldn’t help but feel claustrophobic with the idea of being a lab rat. But finally being free, after all the hardship, and this song, it is a beautiful ribbon that ties up a masterpiece
