A horror movie with the inimitable Boris Karloff and a sci-fi monster movie - an excellent combo!

Loved hearing all the Universal stock music from The Wolfman, Ghost of Frankenstein, etc, in The Black Castle.

TWO great 50's classics! The first film, "The Black Castle", stars Richard Greene (the TV Robin Hood) and Boris Karloff in a tale of malice in the palace. Produced and directed by the crack team of William Alland and Nathan Juran (who also teamed to do the 1957 sci-fi hit "The Deadly Mantis"). The second film tonight is "The Crawling Eye", an offbeat British sci-fi flick which has Forrest Tucker at a high-altitude Norwegian scientific outpost, battling weird creatures from outer space. Cheers! I'll see you there!

I remember that the co-feature for the "Crawling Eye" was the "Runny Nose" - we do not have a Black Castle here in the city but we have the White

I saw this as a kid, and for some reason I didn't care for it. Didn't watch it again for many years. When I did finally watch it again, I loved it, and have watched it many times sense then. It's become one of those I'll watch whenever it's on.

Excellent👌!!! A double punch, of two great films, and genrés😉!!! One semi–classic, Universal horror movie with (Karloff and Chaney, no less), and one classic, sci-fi/horror film, unchallenged so far, in that genré👍!!! Wonderful👏!!! One, which I really don't recall 'The Black Castle' (of which was, NOT disappointing), and the other which coincidentally, just happens to be one, of my favorite sci-fi/horror movies, of all time😁!!!! Great prints, and copies, also.
Even though, we got gyped of the Betty Boop, 'toon🙄……….LOL.

I just love a somewhat happy ending. The good guys almost always won back then but not without a lot of trouble and anguish. Sure took The Castle of Death took it right down to the line in order to finally let the good guy win.

Merci infiniment.

Richard Greene is great in this. I don’t recall ever seeing this when I was a kid. For Gods sake; Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr. are exaggerations of their creepiest. Classic.

Black Castle: Good story line, good acting. I'm surprised. I was tense the whole movie.
Crawling eye was again, way better than expected. This is a good double feature, worth the watch.

The lovely Janet Munro in The Crawling Eye. ❤ Sad that she died young. The first appearance of the creatures is quite good. It’s only when they have the scenes of them outside the observatory that the spfx looks really bad.
