This has got to be the best AFTV interview I've watched in many years! Turkish just lays it down like it is. Stop faffing around and move like the big club you like to say we are. Love it!

THANK YOU, Turkish. You're spot on. If this club is serious, on January 1st, we'll have at least one big name player walking through the door. CAM, Striker, and Winger were all positions we needed at the end of last season, so we're already a transfer window behind. And with all those release clauses, if the club doesn't bring in anyone, they're telling us very clearly that they are not in this business to win trophies. They're here to sell fans' warm feelings

To break such teams down, you need to play one-touch football. We hang on to the ball way too much. Way too many touches which slows the game down and makes it easier for teams to stay compact.

Playing this way, it doesn't matter which striker we sign, we ain't going to score. I'd rather we sign a winger that could take players on than a striker, going by how we play, especially when our fullbacks don't like to bomb forward.

We find it difficult to break teams like that because Arsenal aside Odegard, need a ball carrier like a Jamal musiala profile who can receive the ball and turn and do something different....
you can see that in the second half when odegard started carrying the ball, things changed and attempts started coming in

Problem is not always that we don't have a striker that finishes. not like kai and Gabby constantly missing chances. Biggest problem is chance creation. Other than Saka, our wide players have been poor. We do need a ST. But we definitely need a upgraded wide player.
Also need to send Sterling back; absolute waste of space.

The question of "who" re strikers/forwards is a lazy one in my opinion. The same way Gyokeres and Isak, even Nico Williams, Guler, Yamal etc. Were discovered, others can be discovered. Arsenal has history with this too, examples being Saliba and Gabriel (diff positions but most people didn't know much about them when they joined the club and now they're killers). That's why clubs have scouts. To discover talent. Isak, Kane, Osimhen and Gyokeres are clearly not the only good strikers in the game. Gyokeres was literally playing for Coventry only a few seasons ago. You only have to look at clubs like Brighton to prove this point. There's players out there, you just have to do the work to find and scout them.

Biggest problem is we need a number 9 like a Gyokeres, Vlahovic or even Osimhen. And a winger who can play both sides like Kudus. Martinelli is playing with the handbrakes on
