How I doubled my spending in the last 2 years

Lifestyle inflation definitely got to me over the last two years!! In this video I compare my January 2022 budget to my August 2024 budget and spoiler - I spend over DOUBLE what I spent in a month 2 and a half years ago.

In this video I talk about why I don't inherently think all lifestyle inflation is bad, but also why it's important to not take the mindset of "I'll start saving and investing once I increase my income".

Budget template I use to budget & track my spending:

HYSA I use to organize & build my savings:

Monthly budget, lifestyle inflation, what I spend in a month, monthly spending recap, how I budget my money, how to budget, budgeting tips, cost of rent, how I afford my lifestyle, monthly budget setup, track my spending, spending tracker, how to set up a monthly budget, how to save money, sinking funds, how to set savings goals, saving money

I love that you don’t have a shortage mindset and don’t mind enjoying life while meeting financial goals.

You inflated your lifestyle but you're debt free AND have savings/investments that you're hitting!? Lady, i will never judge you for your spending because that's hella impressive 😃 RESPECT!

This year might be even worse than the last. Last year, I lost a lot of money on bad investments that I never would have made if I hadn't been so worried about my portfolio. I didn't know if I should continue to invest or pay my mortgage off. After selling my investments, I discovered that the house needed more work than I thought it would. I don't know how long I can keep doing this

Why don’t you use your apartment gym? I’m sure it’s high end for the rent you pay?

This was so helpful to me as someone who just got a higher paying job and will move into an apartment soon, with a partner who makes much less money. I'm positive it'll be worth it but I am used to splitting expenses 50/50 and historically I have been more stingy/frugal so I think it'll take a lot of getting used to and some moments might be hard. Do you have any thoughts on this? Thank you I've loved your content for years (since ex boyfriend frat house hahah) <3

Love this! Can you share about what jobs you did in college? I’m trying to find a good side hustle alongside my full time job and need ideas that aren’t scams lol

How much do you charge for free lance financial consulting? Do you specialize in any particular field? Like post grad? Do you have any insight on affordable healthcare options as a freelancer?
