dreams once hidden will be real. the collage hail from norwich, connecticut, with known members john phillips and john doran. this is the a-side to “closing in on me” on subtown records. these guys made three singles on three separate labels, one on subtown, one on coliseum, and one on trip universal. i guess they couldn’t find one they liked. anyway, this spin sounds nearly professional to me. i like the echo effects and you can always get me with some good harmonies. once again i’ve got to thank my friend tristan for showing me this tune! 🎵

Once again you thank your friend Tristan for showing you this tune.
I thank you for turning me on to this tune.
Dreamy garage psych. Heavenly harmonies.
Yeah, they sound like pros. This tune should have made a chart entry.

mystery woman, my heart (?)
flower island and garden there
window wishing, light comes easy
words i say that she can’t hear

something hold back these words i will say
would she laugh and throw them away?
why don’t i call her? why don’t i call her today, today?
if she would (?), oh

mr. daydream in my window
silent partner in life’s ordeal
distance morning, waiters calling
dreams once hidden will be real

something hold back these words i will say
would she laugh and throw them away?
why don’t i call her? why don’t i call her?

(john doran, 1967.)
