I have been looking for a substitute stitch for a sweater I am working on....the design calls for a lace panel that is a tad bit revealing for me...stumbled upon this tunisian stitch and it will be perfect....I just love the visual of tunisian crochet...I even ordered the book you referenced on my Kindle....I am all set...thanks for the great tutorial!!

As much as I appreciate this tutorial, I am stuck with this pattern and cannot understand how in so many comments, NOT ONE single person has noticed that there is a discrepancy between what the graphical representation of the pattern tells you to do and what the words tell you to do. The graphics say chain 1 through the last bar of row 2 and the words say stick a double Tunisian crochet through it (which is what Ellen does)! I also don't understand why, in the pattern, both the graphical and the verbal description want me to put one TDC in each of the last bars separately on row 1 rather than 2 TDCs through both as this actually breaks the pattern and both give the same number of stiches. I would have figured it was in order to give a nice edge but the pattern doesn't GIVE a nice edge. NONE of this is Ellen's fault but I am left not knowing what to do to create a nice symmetrical pattern. I have tried it several different ways (the verbal description way, the graphical symbol way and another more symmetrical version of my own) and the left edge is pretty dodgy no matter how I do it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I really want to use this stitch as the body of it looks GREAT!

Hi Ellen, thanks for the explanation, I'm new to Tunisian crochet. On my own I would have been bamboozled by this pattern. 👍

Explaining these patterns with the instructions and the chart is very helpful. It also helped when you put the chart up close to the camera so we could see what you are showing. This is a pretty pattern.

Hi Ellen❣️ Thank You So Very Much for these wonderful tutorials!!! I have a couple of Tunisian crochet books on the shelf! On the shelf because, as you said each designer uses different verbage and the charts just boggle my mind🤭 You are the ONLY one I have seen to teach so eloquently with a pattern & chart row by row👍#️⃣1️⃣ I so appreciate you❣️ Blessings💕

Hi Ellen thanks for producing such great videos, nice and slow for a beginner, great close up and easy to follow. I do have a question. I want to create a baby blanket using this stitch and want to know how to alternate the three different yarn colours I want to use. Do you have another tutorial that shows how to join different colours together. Thanks.

Just lovely...!!! Beautiful pattern and you explained it with care and patience...!!! I wonder if this could be done in some other material such as raffia raw or yarn, 1mm cord or something else to knit for a table runner... A bright green for Christmas runner for main table or auxilliary rolling pastry / canape cart...? Thank you anyway for the tutorial... time well spent...!!! BTW, being so ignorant of this type of knitting I also wonder if it can be knitted in the round to create doilies... Thanks...
