I lived in Mexico for 10 years and loved it, wish I could go back. Costa Rica definitely not. Expensive, dangerous, no more foreign incentives, heavily taxed, government corrupt and worthless, infrastructure bad, etc

lived in Costa Rica for 16 months - I would not recommend it other than a solid vacation spot.

I'm thinking Argentina or Serbia.

Those other countries are dependent on the dying west and take too long to get citizenship.

I have always thought that the southern border will end up being a wall to keep Americans IN!!!

Honest look at Mexico from US perspective: Underemployment is rampant, education is low, healthcare is universal, safety/integrity with police is sketchy, property laws are sketchy and often skewed towards those born in mexico. Now imagine you the american with a 70k/yr remote job move down there. They're going to tax you at 35% to ensure tons of underemployment people (usually women/children) get healthcare on your dime. You get virtually no police protection for your taxes. You have to pay separately to use the roads because they have tolls and are in bad condition. The only thing you dodge is your tax money doesn't go to aircraft carriers defending places like Taiwan, when China invades. Tax-wise, you will still get ripped off worse than a well put together tax minimalization plan executed in the US. Also, imagine banks confiscating your house -- your biggest asset -- because they felt like it. That is a blow to your retirement you can't fully recover from.

Interesting what you are mentioning regarding safety in Mexico. Of the most dangerous 50 cities in the 2022 ranking, 17 are located in Mexico and 8 or them are in the top 10. In 2023 it was not much different.

I thing Spain is a very nice country to live in, specialy with a lot of different nature, like the USA. Dessert, Beaches, mediteranien Sea and ilands, the Mountains. It is also very closed to the rest of europe, like france, switzerland and Italy. But Spain can be difficult, for wealth tax on your propertys arrount the world. You have to watch that very well. And for the 5 - 6 year taxbrake, that is not the best to go thru... They also have different other taxes to watch for... it is important to check with a spanish accountant. But for sure one of the best countrys to live in. I do live there about 3 month of the year in the medit. spanish iland... but not for tax brakes...

The incompetence and corruption that runs through this administration are getting more ridiculous. I feel for people with disabilities not getting the help they deserved. Thank you Dora Hobbs, imagine investing $1000 and receiving $7, 300 in 3days.🇺🇸

Now you're in Mexico so you're promoting it?
Spain is still 12 hours flight from US.
Best place is still Dubai.

I heard Croatia is not going to tax on capital gains for those of us who invest in digital assets like crypto and stocks.
