Wow! This is amazing. Those stops were seriously improved.

This would be a real game changer for motor sports. Gives new meaning to E-brake.

Definitely a must have system. Why wait for a new car, I would be interested in installing this system on my existing car.

Interesting tech. Two concerns - what are the failure modes? With regular hydraulic brakes, if the ABS fails I will generally still have braking power via the mechanical primary/secondary hydraulic cylinders. What happens with this system if there's a loss of electrical power? 2nd concern - early advanced traction control on some motorcycles was very dependent on tire brand and spec choices, and wouldn't work as well is you went away from the OEM tire. Is the new Brembo system like that? Is it easy to replace the tire with a different brand/profile/seasonal spec?

Please note, I'm not opposed to new tech, I'm just curious about how the engineers have approached those issues. Thanks!

Isn‘t it very similar to the Mercedes SBC brake which caused lots of issues back then due to failures? I also remember that you had to change this system After a certain number of brake Applications

I would love to see how much it costs to do this mod and what type of work it takes. Does it have to be OEM?

This is actually more awesome than just the “electric control” = instant precise control .
1) no worry about brake fluid absorption of water and then needing to flush out for new DOT 3/4 to keep performance up.
2) no heating or boiling off brake fluid when track/ racing, then loosing your breaks
3) no need to worry about aftermarket hard/steel braided break lines snapping lines with modified suspensions (drift cars, off road long travel suspensions …)

I believe we have already started seeing production cars with adjustable brake pedal feel. I believe the new M3/4 has it. There again good brake feel is good brake feel so that shouldn't be a parameter you should have to adjust. Same thing with steering feel. However, the increased responsiveness and ability to mico-adjust the amount of brake torque at each brake are real advantages.

I would love to see if this can be integrated with trucks carrying a load or attached trailer. Could it further assist making a smarter breaking decision with a trailer attached. Maybe activated with tow/haul or if the trailer pins see resistance indicating a trailer is attached?

This technology would be even more impressive on a motorcycle where traction is always at a premium.

I'm digging the wrap on the model 3! My wife got her Model 3 done in flat neon green with black logos and it looks really cool. That orange color might be good for the next wrap.

Nice job, Alex! Keep up the good work!

I wonder if this software will wear out your brakes quicker?

They needed this in the Plaid cars, every automotive journalist knows those brakes don’t hold up or seem not to give all the braking it could. Just look at what Chet tried to do and the brakes failed with the aftermarket carbon ceramics.

As great as sensory is it has to link to car x tech that is being introduced in us and Europe to prevent rear ending

Still would want a mechanical fail safe computer sometimes fail overtime

Think about how much efficiency you could gain and weight you could save if you could get rid of the friction brakes altogether. Once vehicles get a motor for each wheel Regen only cars could become viable. That would improve performance and make the car more efficient.

I see this in all Cars and Trucks and Trailers to prevent jack knife of them. ;-D

Interesting tech but I have to wonder if this would even get implemented much because of the cost. ABS is pretty cheap and dead simple already.

This systems seems to be the closest to aircraft antiskid I ever seen. The "anti-lock" system that is cars now is a poor knockoff of aviation. Good job Brembo.
