I tried to practice this (still need practice)due to reading up practical knife throwing called it "Dart"

It's the same type of motion as using an addle addle, I'd say just call it the addle toss/throw

I do it with axes, and have called it "the Minus One Rotation" so far.

I call it the Atlatl grip, it's one of the grips I use gor spear type of throws
