To loop compositions or any asset just right-click the layer go to Time>Enable Time Remapping, and then add the loopOut(); expression. Also, you might want to add a new keyframe right before the one that After Effects creates, and delete that one. Great video.

For looping footage I use time remapping with loop expression, it works with anything, The method mentioned is new to me

thanks for this! never knew about the looping in the project folder. I normally use expression loops as this allows for composition loops
