Walk Away SPLIT - TURNING 1 Honey Bee Hive INTO 3!!!

This 3 deep colony of bees in 5 frame Nuc boxes has down extremely well and was ready to split. I decided to do a walk away split. This is how I did it.

I love this video with the nucs, as I’m getting older I’m not a fan of lifting very heavy hives, they are to much for me, nucs are great, I also make my own nucs, easy peazy splits there, the colony was awesome fantastic, hoping you still got your bees and having a great season with your bees . 👍

You have the option of putting the least populated hive in the original spot to gain bees.

cinder blocks. Unwanted pests. Turn the blocks so the holes are horizontal. That way they won't hold no Critters

That hive sure was full. Would it be too soon to add a box right away to the original spot knowing that it will get all the field bees right away? Just curious why you will wait a week. Good video.

Hey Bruce, loved the video. I am going to attempt making my own boxes. Do you have the plans for yours? I have the typical Langstroth measurements but I love the interchangeable boxes that you use.
