The camouflage value is built into the unit as a numerical value. It doesn't take into consideration anything special like colors or textures matching the local terrain.

One thing I found annoying about OFP 1 was that on a mission, I would be on the edge of a woodland picking my target with a sniper rifle a good 400+ yards away. Take them out with one shot, yet the remaining enemy would then kill me with their AK47s almost instantly from the same distance! Yet in real life, I would still be invisible to them even with a scope!

A supressor doesn't really muffle the sound but make it sound like something else, also it would distort the sound of origin and by so making it more difficult to trace the shot.

True. Too bad the game doesn't simulate that.

Also most people think sound suppresors on sniper rifles kills the sound. It just makes it harder to find and useful mainly at "close" range.

You that's the thing, I was thinking about buying it, so I wanted to check it out on cracked version.
And it looks awesome, but as a said, the aim didn't work so a started to doubt.
But if you say it isn't like that in the real game, than it really is an awesome game !!
I'm getting it as soon as it comes out in my country xD

There was no wind effect, no recoil. And after a couple of 100 meters, the bullet's flight curve gets affected by gravity. This seems to have no effect at all. And he got the rifle steady by holding it for 3 seconds. In RL a real sniper settles down and first has to get his aim which can take at least half a minute. Ok, it's cool but the game can't call itself a "military simulation" (like it does in the commercial).

not anymore. they said it's encouraged not to use it on personnel but is allowed if they need to.

Actually most snipers do not have silencers, they are useless. A sniper needs a high power round to reach out and hit the long ranges to make it effective as a sniper rifle. When you use a high power round it always breaks the sound barrier, and that produces a loud crack that can be easily heard up to 1 km away. I could see a DM using a silenced rifle with low-velocity ammo, but that's not really a sniper rifle, or a sniper in the same sense.

Probably does, some of the ghillies in ArmA 1 made it so the AI had a hard time detecting you through some config. Probably did it with these to.

when the round goes faster then 330m/s, it is supersonic, when its supersonic, a sonic boom will occur. that boom cannot be silenced. not by the best supressors.
also you said that it would go slower, true, but it was supersonic at some point (in the barrel)

yeah, a supressor (propper name not silencer) muffles the sound and muzzle flash
