*EPISODE 47: BOARD GAMES FOR KIDS UNDER 8 THAT PARENTS WON'T HATE* is a different type of episode. Here, we take a look at some hidden gems & lesser-known games for kids under age 8... that parents won't dread playing! These are some random board games from our collection that we have enjoyed over the years with our daughter, so if you typically like the games I feature here, you may enjoy these with your kids. Also, my 7-year-old daughter wanted to share her thoughts on these games as well, so she makes her YouTube debut on Episode 47! I hope you all enjoy this one! It's a step outside the box of my typical content! I'll be back with my regular dosage of euro games & gamer's games in a couple weeks.

About Mythe, its name in Japanese katakana says マイス, which reads exactly like "mice", the game's characters. But that pun can't translate well into English since Japanese pronounce the "th" sounds like "s", unlike native speakers.

Awesome episode! As a parent I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I love and share your passion for old euro games, so I know it was probably not your first choice to make an episode about kids games. But as a gamer and a dad (3yo / 5yo), it's nice to have this great list of games to check out so I don't lose my sanity playing Guess Who (although that game does teach some useful deduction skills, but still...). I have never heard of any of these games so I hope these can hold me over for the next couple years. One day I will be able to enjoy a 2 hour game of Kogge with my kids! But until then I'm most excited to check out The Heroes of Kaskaria! Thanks again for your efforts. I genuinely love this channel. P.S. Your daughter is going places: "Look for the biggest stack of sheep and cut them off" 😂😂

I love the concept of this episode and I love the title 😂 All these look wonderful for my kiddos (and for me too 😂), especially Heroes of Kaskaria, Elk Fest, and Mythe! Always enjoy your videos! Thank you for making them!

Such a cute video. Even though my kids are a bit older, a couple of these still look perfect for them....Elk Fest and Pina Pirata. My daughter often wants to play Uno.
Battle Sheep is a fun game. I got to play this at a meet up not too long ago. We had a blast with it (all adults) . I've been debating on getting this or Fjords, which seems like a very similar game, for myself.
Admittedly, I almost skipped this video due to it being for a"kids", but I am glad I didn't.😁

Definitely going to gift Monza to my brother! We're Italian so it's also cool for the Italian racetrack theme. I've read comments about not wanting to play UNO, have you played Knizia's LLAMA? That game has a lot of hidden depth for gamers!
I've been binging your videos, love your taste in games and your teaching/delivery/camerawork are top notch!!

I was really waiting for this kind of episode thanks again for sharing.

We play Enchanted Forest but with some house rules for example you can choose to play 1 die or 2 dice combined.

Also Monza is cute and lovely, if we want a faster game we allow to play 2 same color dice as 1 wild.

Now it's time to prepare my wallet once again and seek for those games in your video 😅

Fantastic video. As a dad and uncle I am always looking for kids games to help get people into the hobby. A lot of these were new to me. How in the world do you always manage to find great games for your videos?!

Unfortunately, my kids got too old. But there was a time when I was always on the hunt for intesting kids games. We played a whole lot of monza and enchanted forest for sure.

Dude this is the best video for kids board games I’ve come across. I’ve watched 20+. Thank you!

Fantastic video. Thank you for doing this. I will definitely be on the look out for Elk Fest now. All of these games look great but that one just sung to me. Current favorites in our house are Hoowasit, Valley of the Vikings, Supertooth, Just Desserts, Sorry Sliders, and Uno Stacko.

Awesome video UDG! Love the idea and genre for this one! I haven't dived too deep into a lot of children's games but played 3 of these and love them!
Mythe looks amazing honestly!
Would love to try Kaskaria!
HABA makes some of the best games for this category I think! 👏😺
Love Monza and Enchanted Forest. Battle Sheep is tons of fun!

Is it tough to find MONZA in the English version. I've seen German copies for sale. My Grandsons would love this!

Elk Fest looks real fun, especially for such few components. But, and this is for either the designer or the publisher, those are MOOSE not elk!

Enchanted Forest "30-60 minutes (or maybe all day) " 😂😂😂 Good to know I'm not the only one who has played a never-ending game of Enchanted Forest 😂😂😂

Monza? My 5 year old grandson wants to play Heat! What am I supposed to do? Say no to learning good games? Okay, Monza actually looks pretty decent now that you've explained it. Maybe I should compromise and get Camel Up. Any tips for precocious preschool gamers? He's teaching me about Minecraft. And don't get me started on his mastery of the dice game Spots. That's actually not bad for kids in my opinion.
