Now that Scurrius has been released that clip is even funnier now.

I've been saying this for years. Sad they killed off like 90+% of skilling money making methods by making monsters drop.all the resources you would ever need..

The problem with OSRS and most games nowadays is that the players have become so obsessed with the META that nobody just plays for fun anymore. Hence the death of minigames etc. Its all about max xp/gp per hour and less about the experience.

I genuinely am sad that skilling is hardly profitable. It genuinely sucks. Just time and money sinks to max

If it makes anyone feel better about Broken Hands. Every player has to visit his island at some point in there game. It’s one of the spots you teleport via the fairy ring to reach the Queens hidden base.

I bet almost all of us immediately knew what boss was being discussed before clicking the video.

While it might've been bad for the game at the time, Zulrah is in my opinion THE most important update of the history of OSRS. To me, Zulrah was the point where Jagex wanted OSRS to stop being in the shadow of RS2. Even if it's an easy boss by today's standards, without it being a stepping stone that proved to Jagex that we can handle challenge in our content, we wouldn't have raids, the inferno, nor any other content where Jagex tries to push the limits of their engine (see sepulcre)

Never knew the boss was based on snake specs, makes sense now.

Also, if you kill the crippled little rat, you can get a smaller rat named Hector as a pet. Its only dialogue would be *aggressive dinging noises*

The nightmare has a cool droptable, but my complaint there is that there are too many different powerful items there. Why not just have the staff and orbs, and give the BIS inquisitor gear to different bosses? I would like to see powerful items spread out a bit more. Just like how all the bis jewellery comes from 1 npc. The way gwd did it is truly the best way, because the split in styles and lore makes sense.

I still haven't done zulrah. I like playing OSRS to do the old content and I'm really lazy about re-doing content. I'm glad yall get new challenges and hard content to do because my peak/end was probably the era of Heart Of Gielinor RS3 years

That poll at 1:30, Unless I'm mega mistaken "An update to the slayer skill" has the second most votes, not the new boss option. Am I missing something?

It was honestly crazy that the meta for ironman was to kill like 10k zulrah if you wanted to max. This is unfortunately one of the issues we were going to face when we reset the servers to 07. We went from having no endgame bosses outside of GWD (which have terrible overall drops) to the first boss with a good farmable drop table. Zulrah did a good job of killing off alot of the boring content that makes players end up quitting the game.

Might be worth noting that the Spike was replaced by the Serp. The intent was one drop for each combat style. The fang working on the trident was also added in later blogs since the SotD was more PvP focused than PvM. Then there is the whole blowpipe speed thing which was technically polled at dart speed, but likely due to the CM who wrote the blog phrasing it poorly.

For the drop table, I'd say players blame them a bit too much for the state of skilling. Even back in the day, bosses had drops like 100 Yew Logs but it wasn't an issue then. The bigger issue isn't that PvM drops skilling resources, but that PvM has gotten more endgame content with higher profit per hour while skilling has largely remained the same. There are far more non-combat skills than combat skills, yet there are a lot more combat updates and when we do see skilling updates, they tend to be new training methods, not new money makers. It is hard for skilling to keep up when they're getting minnows when PvM is getting raids. Some bosses like release zulrah did drop too much of certain resources to the point it hurt the markets, but a many skilling resources were already close to alch value so drop tables didn't devalue them; money makers just moved past what they could earn.

They need new resource types. We keep getting better BIS items for PVM/PVP but have the same fish, trees, runes, etc.

I'm surprised you haven't brought up how Jagex nerfed zulrah teles again to drop only 1 at a time which resulted in it skyrocketing to 50k and later then making it drop 4 at a time (which today stiff stands at around 25k each)

Going through some of your older content after watching some of the newer stuff, and I did not expect to hear the name Gonthorian here! Real blast from the past, there.
