Thanks for posting. Today's Roland synths sound worse than they did in the 80's. Ultimately it's the sound that makes the difference, not 100 blinking lights, buttons or scroll wheels.

Well, I heard "Jump", and "Strawberry Fields" :-)

The quality of these (built in?) patches was all over, though. The demos on the Roland site for the Orchestra pack give you the impression that you REALLY want to install that if you are doing brass/woodwind stuff, though. They sound nice on the "Axial" site demo.

I think the woodwind sounds are surprisingly good

not sure why this video is called simply "brass" when so many other things are also played, but I have to say I agree that many of these are lacking if not poor, esp the brass (tho it was kind of hard to tell, given how ridiculously quickly this person blew thru many of them - just a few notes each is hardly enough) . the woodwinds played were pretty good, esp the flute.

3:47 that utterly useless mad sax sample off the discontinued DANCE board for the XP-series. WHY? No sax ever sounded as good as the U20's SN-U110 Sax and trombone card, yet Roland REFUSES to add it to their library of newer synths. Adding FXM to normal sax waves doesn't give the same effect and sounds artificial. That's EXACTLY the reason I'll NEVER sell my Fantom X6, into which I multisampled that "SAX-FF" wave and use it with system control modulation lever, combined with soft sax waves, to get the most authentic sax ever.

I like your demos but this one is not as good, it doesn't help much to play some sounds for
half a second !

IN FACT, SOME OF THE SOUNDS DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN THE JUNO DS. PERIOD.
