Skylanders Swap Force on the Wii is a weird port. It has many, many differences compared to the Wii U version besides graphics. Suprisingly, some are for the better. Today we will look into every major difference from the first level: Mount Cloudbreak.

Ngl, the very fact that Beenox managed to make the game even playable at all with stable frame rates and retain most of the gameplay features intact on the Wii is honestly pretty impressive.
Considering the engine for Swap Force was designed more with next gen consoles in mind and the Wii being the weakest of its gen, it's pretty mind blowing to say the least.
Gotta give it to Beenox for that

2:56 I believe the reason for this is to showcase the lighting. Imagine if they had created an afternoon theme for the Wii version; it would lack shadows, bloom, and reflections. Even if the Wii could run pre-rendered (baked) lighting, it would look tragic without post-processing. Long story short, that’s the best the devs could have made.

You should've covered more differences, like the bridge getting destroyed in the wii U version, and the plane crash at the end of the Wii version

The fact they were able to port this game to the Wii at all is a pretty incredible feat.

Holy shit is this what the wii looked like?
Damn, those are some iffy graphics.
I say this because the SF was the first game in the series I played (got it Christmas 2013), and it was on the wii.
Rose tinted glasses I suppose.
And also being a little gremlin that could barely tell the difference between graphic quality in games.

I'll give Beenox credit for getting Swap-Force, the full game to run on Wii, it's the full game, not a gimped version. And it comes with all the bells and whistles of the other versions. I got this version in 2013, I played Spyro's Adventure and Giants on Wii and even though the other versions are objectively the better versions, I had loads of fun with the Wii version and Swap-Force was the last game I went in to complete the whole set with. It became too much afterward with Trap Team.

Also, I'll add I think after Swap-Force they should've dropped the Wii. The Wii version of Trap Team is horrendous, it's on there, but it really shouldn't be. And then the Wii version of SuperChargers is just a racing game.

This is going to be a cool series. It’s so interesting to see the differences in the two versions when there really doesn’t need to be any unless there is some sort of hardware limitation on the Wii. But Tessa’s dialogue change? Why? What’s the point of giving Tessa different dialogue on the wii? 😂

This is a pretty creative series since the wii is the only console to have bad graphics, but I am so ashamed like how come the sound of shooting chompies out starts after the chompies land on the ship, I am so surprised by vicarious visions, the wii is already bad but manages to get that part right, though hopefully we’ll see more

I got to say Wii U is infinitely better. Parts of the game had to be cut out for the Wiis weak storage and power. The graphics are also much better on wii u.

Cool, i have played some Skylanders but not this one yet, and i truly want to. I think that this is a good idea for a series, you probably shouldn't be interrupting the video with a black background and white text, you could write the text during one gameplay or showing both games to emphasize the changes better, but overall, i like this series, keep doing it!

I honestly didn't notice any difference in the graphics until I got to the final boss. Kaos's eyes were more dark in the Wii version compared to the other versions.

In my opinion, the Wii U version is just the better choice. That fact that the Wii version of ALL Skylanders games that came out after Spyros Adventure are just straight up ugly and makes playing them on the Wii feel useless when the Wii U version look WAY better. If I were to play through or even watch gameplay of any Skylanders games, it would be the Wii U. The minor differences like removing characters yelling for help is just a stupid reason for why the Wii version is better, along with getting a couple extra coins in the beginning of the game. The looks and sounds of the games are practically the only differences (besides the nitpicks in this video) in the Wii and Wii U versions, and with that fact, it just makes the Wii U versions better. I'm not hating, just giving my honest opinion.

If I get the Wii Skylanders disc to play on the Wii U would the graphics be the same as playing on an Wii? Or it’ll just be like playing smoothly on a Wii U?

just a warning some levels have tons of differneces
also I think instead of saying wii vs wiiu you should say wii vs hd as the wiiu is just one of the hd versions of the game
also if you did a comparison like this for SSA it would be like 3 times longer lol

It’s not really a port. The Wii was what the Alpha version of the game was tested on, which might explain all of the differences
