One of my workers just did the dumbest thing ever. He tried to heat up his gas station burrito by wiring the microwave to the battery on the skid steer.
And I don’t know what he was thinking- of course it didn’t work, and now the battery’s dead.
But check this out, I just picked this EZ Start Emergency Jump Start Unit- it’s powered by 18v cordless tool batteries, so you don’t need another vehicle to jump start.
This version can use Dewalt or Milwaukee batteries; they also make one for Makita.
It’s got a 60amp circuit breaker that you leave off until you have the cables hooked-up and you’re ready to go.
This old roller has been sitting all winter long- let’s see if we can jump it.
The EZ Start would be great for starting equipment that you can’t drive close enough to reach with jumper cables.
This is not a paid ad, and I don’t have a link. I just saw it at the front counter of my local lumber yard and thought it was super cool.
And don’t worry about the New Guy, he did get his burrito after all.
I plugged the microwave into the bed of my F250 and warmed it up for him myself.
So, this got me thinking- what are some other everyday things that could be powered with tool batteries.
