For those who are curious, the semicolon tattoo indicates the will to live and keep going even with constant struggles with mental health, depression, etc. it represents hope and resilience in the face of difficult challenges. It’s a beautiful tattoo and I hope everyone is alright <3

my old band teacher (i dont take band anymore and he went to a diff school) had the same tattoo and he saw me scratching at myself a bunch and saw my scars and he showed me the tattoo and said "yk what this mean? it means ive been right where u are now. i know whats its like, trust me" and then he gave me this whole talk abt how things get better and stuff. he was a HORRIBLE teacher but an awesome person lol

When I was going through I hard time, i physically self harmed a semi colon into my wrist. 5years later, it’s still there, surrounded by fresh and old scars, reminding me of how far I’ve come, or the steps I’ve taken backwards. Last year, I stick and poked one into my ankle. It does get better, but it takes time.

I think the quote "Your story's not over" is apart OF the tattoo. I'm sure there's better explanations, but that's the short answer for u :3 (I'll reply if ppl have questions).

My physics teacher has this on his wrist and I honestly don't know how these teachers do it, having had very similar events and experiences in life as him. And yet these people still care so much to teach and inspire us kids and honestly it makes me feel so glad that people like them exist, and that maybe there is a litttle but of hope that i turn out an alright person, but at the same time, having been through what he's been through, I feel so sad

I am at a point where I am at my all time lowest. I’m struggling so hard I don’t even understand how to cope or grieve at this point. I am so sad and worried and devastated all the time that I am constantly sick to my stomach. This is a time when I am literally begging not to wake up in the morning. I want to be gone I really am not strong enough for all this. I couldn’t do that to everyone who loves me but I can’t help feeling like this. And I understand this on a whole higher level.

My teacher in social studies I hear the kids making fun of her because she’s on the bigger side but she is a tattoo that says “ my story ; isn’t over “ and after I saw it, I just felt so much more understood and she’s a very understanding and kind teacher

A semi colon tattoo usually means that the person survived a su!c!de attempt/thoughts or SH and that they are in recovery. It could also mean that they have lost someone or know someone struggling with those thoughts/actions.

A semicolon means that your story isn’t over and still continues. For when you could have ended your story but chose to keep going.

my math teacher has on with butterfly wings on her ankle. when i told my friend about it she didnt believe me cause my math teacher is the happiest person alive. the next day she told us that she grew up with childhood trauma. even the happiest people you know could really be going through it.
