We all know and LOVE this AMAZING & EXTREMELY TINY Otis Black Button Elevator that Ethan originally discovered back in 2015!!!! I've gotten a few requests and people wondering how this thing is doing, and plus I LOVE this elevator and wanted to ride it again.... Well, here is a long overdue retake since my last take of this was 2.5 years ago. Well, let's see how it's doing..... And needless to say, I'm very happy to see this is STILL ORIGINAL and running FLAWLESSLY (with the exception of the fact the door closes almost immediately after opening.....) Being this is Single Speed, it doesn't level and it stops a bit rough, but this is just part of the charm!!!! I also LOVE the Industrial Old School 1950s look of the EXTREMELY TINY Cab that BARELY fits 3 people and is so small making this elevator 100% non ADA compliant in addition to the fact the ORIGINAL & BEAUTIFUL Bakelite Otis Black Button fixtures are too high.... Also, this thing hasn't been inspected since 2015 likely due to Florida Codes and this place likely doesn't have the funds to maintain or modernize this, but with that all said, aside from a few issues such as a burnt out original light fixture and the door closing almost IMMEDIATELY after opening, this runs pretty well, and the Startup of the Single Speed AC Traction motor is VERY EPIC!!!! With how antiquated this building is and how the first floor theater is long abandoned, this place WITHOUT A DOUBT doesn't comply with Florida Codes, and I wouldn't be shocked if this place is eventually demolished, but at least I've gotten now 3 VIDEOS of this BEAUTY and you gotta enjoy things when they last!!!! And hopefully, that won't happen for MANY years to come!!!!
Also, I apologize for being a day late due to school being exhausting, but Happy 42nd Birthday Andrew aka Dieselducy!!!
