Thanks to Erikmon, Matt, Logan and Free Geek Twin Cities for sending this stuff my way!

Today I'm unboxing a few packages that arrived at the studio over the past few months. And one of them contains what I consider to be the holy grail of boxed Windows software!

The people who mailed those items are the most selfless people ever, and that's wholesome.

Thank you Michael for this wonderful video. Always great to see vintage software. I recently helped someone do a garage sale and i managed to get a lot of old software and even managed to get around 50 floppy disks which to me was a throw back to my childhood.

If I recall correctly, Windows 1.0 was only available for the DEC Rainbow 100. The first IBM PC version was 1.01. Regardless, very neat to see such an early copy of Windows complete in the box.

It's nice and really special that people sent that stuff into you but, Windows 1.01, or 1.03 boxed? That is freaking cool to find. Very rare to see. I've seen one on the past and someone was asking good money for it.

Today, most I have with Windows 1.03 is a VM with it, just to play with time to time. I do think out of the reto OS, Windows 95/98 get the most use as there was plenty of cool

Glad you finally got a chance to look at the PC-DOS and webcam. I hope you get some fun out of them.

I wish I could post pictures in the comments, but I just had a look at my boxed copy of Windows and it's a 1.0! It also has an 'International Version' sticker on it.
I also have a copy of Microsoft Multiplan 2.0 and two copies of Microsoft Word 2.0. They all have the slip covers (is that considered 'boxed'?) and one of my copies of Word has all of its documentation still sealed.

I remember a classmate using that webcam/camera on a school trip in 2009 and I remember being intrigued by it. Maybe I’ll get one and try it myself.

Weird to think that this is likely the most important software release of all time.

Is there a list of all the stuff you have? I used to work at Egghead Software’s corporate store and later on was the software manager for CompUSA in the same city after Egghead shut down. I still have so much old stuff but already tossed a bunch, unfortunately one was even an OG WebTV, we got a lot of focus from vendors since we were the corporate location.

Oh you really should do a video on Xenix, it's funny to think about how MS used to have the most popular UNIX on the market, I'm sure the two main reasons for ending support were 1) licensing costs to AT&T and 2) the popularity of MS-DOS w/ Windows

Another video idea (or part of Xenix video) might be about Mariner (MS Linux) and/or SONiC (MS and Community supported MS Linux).

I had that same pen camera/webcam. Pretty sure I got it at Fry's in Houston. I used it mostly for taking pictures though. The webcam was bad compared to a quickcam. The images were not that good either but okay for what it was. Appreciate it took video too.
