I think u need to Convert usb from MBR to GPT nd format it to hfs+ before using Transmac in order to work properly

When i follow your steps, my imac just shows a folder with a questionmark in it on startup. And the drive doesnt show up when inserting it on the mac

It's not bootable is it, it's just the installer app. You cannot reboot and boot into it.
