Not only do these bulbs last 25 times longer than a standard incandescent light bulb but they use significantly less energy.

The energy consumption of a single 60-watt light bulb will cost about $90 over 10 years while an LED bulb will cost about $18 to operate. This may not seem like too much, but if you have multiple bulbs, these numbers can really add up!

The next tip is to change out the standard light switch for a spring wound timer switch. This type of light switch allows for the lights to be switched off after a given period of time which solves the issue of tenants turning on the light to do laundry and leaving the light on after they leave. These cost about $20-50 to install but will save you money in the long run.
