I recently plugged on the microwave, so I was surprised that it didn't spark off

These caps have a self discharge resistor built in. At lower voltage it is supposed to happen within 1min of power being removed and at higher voltages they have 5min (don't quote me on this, its been awhile). But these can fail so please do not rely on them to keep you safe.

You can die from these capacitors. People might not be aware how dangerous it can be.

If the microwave is left unplugged for weeks, would the capacitor still keep its charge or will it lose it? Actually, how long does the capacitor keep its charge if unplugged for a long time? I have a broken microwave and was going to remove the transformer when I tracked the wires and found it.

This video is wrong
Don't touch the capacitor with pliers
As pliers are not strongly insulated
The insulation at the end of pliers gets worn out and our hand gets exposed to high voltage instead watch other videos on youtube by using Insulated handle Screwdriver
