You make me slightly more comfortable discharging mine, despite your casual demeanor!

Good info. I've used the smaller ceramic capacitors that were rated 15kv 10ma that bit me a few times. I learned the hard way to make sure those babies were discharged. Ive never dealt with the bigger capacitors like the ones in microwaves. I see now that the discharge procedure is the same.

Man…. This was a great video! No bullshit on the content… and some cool flashbacks. When I was a kid I got my arm caught in one of those washers before… the roller pins. I was in so much pain and still got my ass whipped! 🤣🤣🤣. Good stuff

Uh....and make sure you're not grounded or touching the microwave body. Did you see where the arc went when he shorted the capacitor? To the edge of the capacitor and the metal back panel of the microwave. Also, some tools have foam instead of rubber, and they say on them, "Will not insulate from electric shock". You may want to NOT use those types either.

Don't use plier for 2100volts it won't just be your hair you'd be worrying about 😂

dude thank you so much for this. Every place gives the same instructions as you, but every fucking place scares the hell out of you over that tiny spark. He is 100% right, use a insulated tool, and you should be fine.

My first thought: Should I trust someone who doesn't know how to say "capacitor"?
Ah, but maybe he just throws in the extra syllable for a little extra humor.
... OK, I'll keep listening.
