'Weird Al' Yankovic - Tacky (4 takes)

It's come to my attention that this video is no longer available anywhere else on the internet, so I've decided to upload it here!

When I shot the "Tacky" video back in 2014, we did a total of 6 takes (and used take #6 for the final version). But each of the takes had their charm. Here's four of them, all running simultaneously.

I remember going to see him at the Fox theater in Atlanta some years ago and he started the show with this song. They had a camera on him backstage and he was performing to it, walking through the halls until, towards the end, he burst out into the crowd from behind and performed down the aisle up onto the stage. It blew my mind!

I love how all the other people were doing fairly different things in each take, but Al is doing pretty much the exact same thing, down to time and movements in each take. He knew what he wanted to do and stuck with it.

Also must say, all the takes are good, but you made the right choice with which take made the final cut.

As an aspiring filmmaker who is very engrossed with the "process" of film making and who fantasizes about things like how many takes this might have taken and what the other versions could have looked like, this is a dream. Thank you Al, you brought my Christmas present early... Kinda disappointed that it's not a 2000 inch TV but this will definitely hold me over another year.

I will never get tired of this song and video, lol. I LOVE how everyone is so on board and perfect in their roles, and it's so much fun to see the different takes!!! I played this on repeat for DAYS when it first came out. Also, Weird Al is a treasure that must be protected at all costs. He is one of the best musicians, songwriters, parody artists, performers, and people out there!!! 💖
