When I’m pregnant i store stuff that’s not comfortable or fitting at the top of my closet and try on every 6 weeks or so. About a month postpartum I do the reverse and start moving too big stuff and pulling down stuff that fits again. Makes it much easier to get dressed.

this is such a good decluttering method! i feel guilty getting rid of clothes too, but the curated wardrobe at the end (& also having an easier time dealing with laundry, haha) makes it so worth it 😌

If this were my closet I would’ve kept all the black shoes. Lol. I don’t have any colorful shoes. I like how honest you are with what you really wear. I do the same buy clothes because they are a great deal and look cute on the model but then when get them they’re not right. I try to buy from stores that have free returns. As soon as I realize the garment doesn’t work I return it. This way the return window doesn’t close and you can get your money back. As for weddings or special events, one good dress in the closet is good. Most people tend to shop for a specific event but it’s good to have a back up.

I also find that putting away seasonal clothes is really helpful to keep my brain minimal. I live in California too, but the colors or tanks/sweaters are easy to stick in a bin under the bed.

Thank you for sharing this method it really helps a lot better than just getting rid of items in my wardrobe. I like Natalie Bennett and always make a point of watching her videos. Then Marie Kondo is still a favorite because she's the one that really started the whole process of minimizing your home and wardrobe. Actually, my first You Tube video I ever watched was a woman named Alejandra Costello who has some excellent videos.

Shopping in stores is fun - trying on there means no worries about if it doesn't fit, you can put it back. I check the websites of stores so when I go there I have an idea what I want. Remember though lighting in change rooms is dimer than outside

I wear pants, capris, shorts, skinny jeans, or reg jeans, leggings etc with short dresses for all the reasons, I think it's a thing... You should try it for your short dresses, they are so cute

When you first moved onto the military base/ military housing. Did you guys get stuff before moving or when you got to the house/apartment?

Have you considered selling your clothes on Poshmark? You can eliminate them from the house and make some money off them. Especially if you can't return and the tags are still attached

You could separate the clothes that fit right now from the after pregnancy clothes, it will be even easier.
