How to Stop SHANKING Irons (2 minute fix)

If you are consistently shanking irons or have started shanking irons all of a sudden, then you are in the right place.

I have shanked the ball but not by hitting the hosel. I figured out that my swing path that was causing the problem. At close chip shots my swing bath was almost straight back and forth which caused my club head to turn at an 'outside-in' position at ball contact thus spinning the ball to the left (I'm left handed.) I was able to fix it by making an abbreviated path similar to my full swing; slightly rotating my body in the backswing. This allowed the club head square up at ball contact.

So when people say they are shanking does not mean they are always hitting the hosel.
