besides what you mentioned - Yougurt or the Icee cups, Methylene Blue, long scissors, long tweezers

Additional use for the tall deli cups I use them to hatch cory eggs and for the first couple weeks of raising the fry!

I keep a couple of plant maintenance tools around...a pair of plant scissors and the toll that buries plant roots into the substrate (whatever that's called). Also keep a sponge filter "seeding" in all three of my indoor tanks...just in case

Pepper mill awesome never thought of that. I have a huge container of large pellets and at a loss as to how to break them up for other fish. I’ve been smashing them with a roller pin😏

Also use a power pepper grinder to make fry food of large pellets (Bug bites etc.).

I have most of these items in my fish room. The smaller buckets are nice because they are not as heavy when full. 👍

This is my essential list, in order…1) fish 2) water 3) aquariums 4) duck weed 5) disco ball. On a serious note, the smaller bucket for filter maintenance is a must. Pepper grinder is a great hack.

I just bought deli cups and now I don't know how I ever lived without them. I keep live food colonies in them, I made a housing for a mini submersible pump in my mini pond, I turned one into a planter in a cichlid tank...they have a million uses!

As always great and informative content. Only obvious to the experienced fish keepers. Often learnt by making mistakes or complacency. So you are not only helping the new starters. Also giving a friendly reminder to us ole hands. To not be lazy as our fish pay the price for lazy or bad practice.

I use 5gal water jugs. Has a handle, because I'm old and narrow opening so siphon doesn't fall out.

Hey Mike, I know this may sound like a trivial question but I'm going to ask anyway. Why use a pipette instead of a syringe? I'm very new to fish keeping and plan to get into breeding. I am genuinely curious. I currently use a measuring syringe for my API master test kit.

Pepper grinder is fucking genius to feed Xtreme big fellas pellets to smaller fish. 👍
