Ok very interesting video but I must have missed something. What was it exactly about a discovery that scares scientists???

That unusual 90° join in the tunnel is called a corner.

Egyptians were very clever.

The reason there are no soot stains is because they would put salt in their oil lamps which helped purify the oil before it was burned. after seeing this, I attempted to put salt in my modern oil lamp and it does reduce the amount of soot that settles on my lamp's mantle.

Ever since I was a kid in high school, I have always thought these "Archeology Scientists" never had a single clue about anything. Wild guesses at best. Now at an age far into my retirement years I believe it even more than ever that they have no idea who, when, or how. 🤷‍♂

Talks about a wooden bird made by Egyptians, shows pictures of gold birds made by Incas. Good one Steve

Something not mentioned. Every Pyramid, every one. ( Including ones in Mexico, and other places ) Have all been built on or right next to a water source, and at one point or another, had water flowing in/over/through them. Something that does not get mentioned very often at all for what ever reason.

They used an elaborate system of mirrors to illuminate the inside of the tombs. Reflected light throughout the structure. This was very effective.

Have an uncle that retired from the USAirforce. When I was a kid he was stationed in Egypt for 6 months, where he said he had spent most of his time underground in the desert, around this area. He had brought us beautiful papyrus prints home & shared a lil of his mission, but not a whole lot that I can remember.

I think the main reason why Egypt is the focus of so many conspiracy theories is because "Ancient Egypt" was so long ago, and with none of the cultures of the time surviving to the present day, or even the days of the Roman Empire for that matter, shrouds the land in an air of mystery. The Chinese civilization is just slightly younger than the Ancient Egyptian civilization, but because modern Chinese culture can trace its roots all the way back to those earlier days there's not enough blank spaces for the imagination to run wild. I mean think about it, if the Chinese civilization went extinct at around 100 BC or something, which is after the Great Wall was built, and in modern times people came across this continuous line of manmade barrier that stretches for thousands of miles with no explanation as to its purpose, people would be coming up with all sorts of alien or lost technology theories too. Hell, even with the Chinese civilization around right now there are STILL people who say that the Great Wall was built by aliens! Saying that something is built by man using the technology of the time would require understanding in science and engineering to try and explain how it could be done, and would also require similar understanding to process the explanation; saying that it is instead built by aliens is so much more simple, because aliens have access to far superior technology that we don't have we won't have to explain how it's done, because we won't understand the methods anyway. It's the same gist as saying that something is "the will of God" or that it's "magic"; we don't understand how it works, and we don't need to. It's lazy and counterintuitive, if we're trying to find something out why try to go the opposite direction and say that it's impossible to find out? This is why I can't stand conspiracy theorists...

I think this was the first video from WATOP that I've watched that is not about animals. In fact it's about history! The one class in school I fell asleep in and dropped as soon as I could. Yet I've loved every second of this. Thank you Steve and narrator with the iconic voice!

Very interesting. When we emigrated to Australia, we went through the Suez Canal and visited Aden. A trip to the Pyramids had been arranged but unfortunately, my family wasn't allowed to go as we only had documents of identity and no passports. We did visit the Botanical Gardens and even though it was 7 am, the water in the huge fountain was really hot. We also saw a camel caravan. Ruth down under.

The sarcophagy that you mentioned weigh around 40 tonnes (88, 000 lb), excluding their lids which are about half as heavy. The hallway height & width is barely larger than each sarcophagus. Comparing mummified cats found in large quantities to monolithic structures that we still are unable to reproduce let alone place into such a confining space is ludacris. The distance the stones traveled from quarry yard to resting place is staggering.

Weathering on the Sphinx shows significant signs of water erosion. It's far older than they think. All of this should be open for debate, ridicule, and thinking for yourself instead of believing what we are taught or told. People have written books, papers, and give speeches. It is not a attack on the previous generations of researchers but it could cost them money or reputation. The fact that it is so open & shut about the age of these sites is crazy.

I don't know what was in the sarcophagi but they are intimidating when you stand next to them. Could have been bulls that isn't relevant. Just because somebody claims this or that doesn't make it true.

Love the channel.

I think the reason we don't know or can't figure out how they did it is because we rely far too much on technology nowadays to do things for us. So it creates this barrier in our ingenuity that we can't really get past anymore.

The sphynx head has something like concrete around its neck, was applied/put on about 150 years ago.
For thousands of years, it existed fine.
Only after modern man decided, "Oh, it needs help!", were changes made.
Something tells me, the concrete (or whatever it is) will not last as long as the rock it is attached to.
Hopefully, modern goofiness will not damage the sphinx

It's rather strange how WATOP didn't become a school history teacher because I am almost finished with this video and I have been interested in everything so far that he's talked about

if i can recall correct in Stargate-1 (SG-1) they found the wormhole device (stargate) from egypt close to the pyramids, and the scientist of the team had this theory that these pyramids was a landing pad for "aliens" and they were! after the stargate was found, suddently the scientist was not deemed crazy etc, etc, i bet that show have huge influence of the alien theorys! loved the show, it mixed so well ancient cultures and sci-fi.
