8 hospitalized after tornado hits Chicago suburbs

An EF-3 tornado in DuPage Co., Illinois, damaged more than 130 homes Sunday night. The Northeast is bracing for severe weather early this week.

In 1957 in Ruskin Heights a suburb just outside South of K.C., Mo., had a tornado, where the high schools beams, weighing 7 tons each were twisted like ribbon. There's more that I saw too. It's amazing what I saw with my own eyes a day or two days later, only maybe 5 miles away from our 🏡 home, a car bent around a water tower high up in the sky, looking all together untouched otherwise, a clean rocking chair on a living room clean carpet, with no house in sight. I wondered and asked my parents Where's the house ? " I was truly bewildered. We saw a big thick trunk of an oak tree with long pieces of straw like thin spaghetti sticking out of it. On the news caught on the stores camera, a woman was holding her child's hand with one hand while opening the door with the other and the 5 or so girl child was swept away by the wind. I was shocked. TV was only in black and white until 1967 about, ten years later we saw this all on a warming sunshine day in person. There was houses destroyed it appeared for blocks, sort of easy to see as there was no one around that I could see. We went home immediately then. You never can tell nature how to act. Pray that you won't ever witness your classmates terror because of this, when we went through a fire drill at school one year later. PRAY TO GOD DAILY TO KEEP YOU AND YOURS SAFE.

I saw a tornado in Bullitt co. Kentucky in May of 1996 ...It was a f3-f4 ...I know how one feels to go through that experience...My heart goes out to them...
