See your post earlier about negativity, just do what you gotta do and keep inspiring many, dont let the negativity ruin the positvity thats in you and in your video. Theres two people on this planet one who do, and one who dont and you Sir! You the one who do, your "do"ing a video to help educate people on survival skills and technique, a video many can learn from.

Finally a very clear explanation on the blade and the purpose of use of a smaller knife

Most videos I've seen everyone is using a Bushcraft super heavy duty super long blade and shopping a tree down. Sorry but not my style

Great video thanks again and God bless

You sir, know your stuff!
I'm a 5 hour warrior. I carry knives for different reasons, but am rarely without one. There's the blade in my pocket, the occasional one on my hip, the one on the dash, the army machete under the seat, and they all get used.

Very comprehensive explanation! But a multi-tool is, indeed, very highly valuable in the field.

Well done as always. Thank you.
Two things:
1. I would take a brightly colored knife (the handle, of course). I can find it more easily and am less likely to leave it behind. Red shows well in green grass.
2. I met a handyman that had worked and loosened his Leatherman sufficiently to whip it open to pliers as if it were a switchblade.

I build and sell a few knives out of O-1. I'll take carbon steel any day over stainless! Properly heat treated and there should be no issues with bending or chipping. Easier to sharpen and rust isn't an issue with some minor care. And yes, 4-5" blade is all you need. Most so called "bushcraft" knives are just too big. Too much Hollywood Rambo-knife influence! Smaller is more practical and useful, and will do anything and everything you need it to. Love your channel, just subbed!

Good info. I have a k-bar and carry a Gerber. I bought a stainless steel 15 cm knife, but never used it, I found it too awkward to use. I'll check out the morakniv though. Looks handy and shorter to wield better. Thanks.

I carry in the field a William Collins WCSK and a Mora garberg as a backup and a Gerber center drive as a multi tool. I use the WCSK for heavy use such as splitting kindling or chopping limbs. It's my favorite and primary knife. The garberg as I said is for backup in case I were to lose my WCSK. I WOULDN'T TRADE MY WCSK FOR THE WORLD!

In Europe the Opinel is very popular. It's very light and simple and cheap.
I think we need to be clear about what bushcraft means. Perhaps I am thinking more like a hiker. Weight. A multitool is very heavy.
