Big Babies, Big Opinions—But What Actually Matters? 👶📊

A 33-pound 5-month-old went viral, and suddenly everyone’s an expert:
❌ "That can't be normal!"
❌ "This is child abuse!"
❌ "Parents must be overfeeding!"

Here’s the truth: Babies come in ALL sizes. Pediatricians don’t judge health by one number—we look at trends over time.

📌 If your pediatrician isn’t worried, you don’t need to be.
📌 Judging a baby’s body helps no one—let’s stop the body shaming.
📌 Sometimes, the best response to a big (or small) baby is: “What a cute baby!” and moving on.

I have the opposite problem. People think I starve my baby. She is in the 90 percentile in length but 25 percentile weight. She has been since she was born. This kid gets all the food her heart desires. Even if I tried she wouldn't look like the baby in the video. People really should just mind their own business.

Thanks for your professional insight.
However.
Im gonna use rule and thumb and laymans observations. I might very well be wrong.

But heres my take. That baby is HUGE.
Infant obesity is a thing, right?
So yeah, while hormones and other things COULD be a factor.
Seeing a baby THAT huge seems like a good reason for a parent to go to a doctor to ensure the baby is healthy.

Cuz even if that kid is healthy its still not normal. (Most babies don't get that huge)

Respectfully, I hope the parents get a medical screening. Cuz thats a red flag if nothing else.
