What I don't understand is why Nvidia forced AIBs to use 12VHPWR for the RTX4000s when they are not necessary. The AIBs had the flexibility to use either 8pin or 12VHPWR for the RTX3000s.

Tom, you can't begin to understand how happy I am I watched this video. Not because of the Titan info, but because I was literally just about to buy a Ryzen 5 7600x with a new AM5 Motherboard and 16gb of DDR5 Ram on Amazon, watched your video, and saw the Microcenter deal. This looks so dumb. Who's business gets so much in government subsidies to power these GPUs while running a profitable business in the middle of an energy crisis. If the 7900xt was challenging the 4090, and the xtx beating it, we'd see something like this asap. As it is with those cards bracketing the 4080, with the 4080 closer to the xtx than the xt, there is no hurry.

If Nvidia had have launched that thing, with that power consumption and at least a 50% price increase for 15% more performance than a 4090 it would have been laughed at by reviewers and quickly gotten the nickname "TITANIC."

A potential argument for interest in an ADA Titan, and _not_ a 4090 ti - is that Titan cards traditionally do have certain compute and production workload driver supports that regular GeForce do not. So they often serve(d) as a middle ground between GeForce and Quadro for many users. This is also why we shouldn't be calling the xx90s and xx90tis "Titan" or "Titan _class"_ GPUs. Because they're not, they're just regular GeForce models.

I actually think it is the other way around. If Nvidia feels that AMD might top the 4090, then they will ship this card and call it a 4090ti.
If they feel confident that AMD has no chance of beating them, then they ship a Titan.
We know how Jenson wants to win. The Titan has always been Nvidia's victory lap product, a product that is simply untouchable during its release. But if AMD is a threat to take the crown, Jenson will avoid using the Titan branding, like with Ampere. AMD was too uncomfortably close to Ampere for a Titan.
That is the one simple rule Nvidia uses for whether they release a Titan or not.

With how popular the 4090 is, I believe Nvidia will release something above the 4090 besides Quadro.

A Titan would actually be great. The AI generators eat VRAM like candy, and even a 3090/4090 quickly run out of VRAM. You cannot Nvlink these software yet, either, and of course the 4090 has no Nvlink at all. So a card with a 48gb capacity that isn't the price of a Quadro would be quite welcome, even at $3000. People who render would like them, but AI generators are the hot new thing.

Actually, on that note, Tom, a great guest would be someone who specializes in AI art. It could be a great discussion and be quite unlike other AI topics. The discussion of ethics and copyrights alone would be a great talking point. AI art is going to be (and already is) used in video games, too, so this topic would have value to a variety of listeners.

Fun fact the PCB itself is less then 1 cm and and the cooler group is 16 cm wide. Soon we will need a crane in our case for keep those GPU the have to improve the cooling system and make it max 2 slot instead to increase 10% performance every 3 year
