Washington DC's largest demographic is black at 45%, has 700, 000 people total, but 0 senators.
Wyoming is 891% white, has 600, 000 people, and 2 senators.

Charles Blow's analysis is flawed. His argument suggests migrating to swing states (and especially to purple districts in swing states) rather than to southern states. The example Blow picked, Georgia, is a swing state. (Note: the same reasoning suggests migrating by all groups, not just Blacks, to swing states. Imagine what would have happened if a few hundred thousand Trump voters had moved from California and/or New York to Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin... then Trump would have defeated Biden.)

It's an interesting argument that "If you change the South, you change America". However, these poor families moved as a response to economic needs, not political desires. The South must become flexible enough to allow new ways of making a living there. Republicans never took advantage of their numerical superiority in government in order to bring good paying, sustainable industries to the South. Regardless of color, all Southern citizens suffered for that and many still live in poverty. This is some of the most beautiful land in America and home to some of the sweetest people. However, it's almost as if a piece of them gave up to the plantation owners and that Confederate flag. They have been content before Stacy Abrams to accept their subservient position to a few elite. Those elite did every thing in their power to make certain that their own constituents did Not advance in this world. They wanted no competition, regardless of color. Given a solid economic base, the South will restructure itself and leave poverty behind.
