Although I haven't watched the series, I wish Sherlock could read about JohnLock himself at some time.
After many episodes of overthinking, his Ti and all the presented hints perceived by the viewers would bring about the only logical and undeniable truth. Both eventually indulge in mutual feelings! My theoretical and shallow fandom ends here... 😁

BTW Sherlock '10 is one of the most actively discussed profiles on PDB by comment count. Quite surprising for me, but not so much given the strong fanbase.

All three actually. Sherlock had a lot in common (including writers) with another BBC fave of mine, Doctor Who. I will also concur that the 4th season of Sherlock was a little flaky in comparison to the 3 proceeding it. I'll also say you probably pegged the respective MBTI types of both. It was definitely one of those relationships that went beyond an average friendship.

As a guy and a suspected INTP, I can say I never saw this hidden romance story. I saw two male friends growing a bond, but I'm not saying people can't believe what they want. That's the beauty of everyone being different. Essesntially, we are all just animals with different brain chemicals and wiring, so what does anyone of us truly even know?

I don't know if I see myself in Sherlock (even the version I saw), but I can relate to certain aspects of his "condition". The social isolation, bluntness, introversion, love of logic and reason. I prefer to practice emotional discipline in a world where showing too much can be a liability. People can misunderstand you, judge you or ignore you. I prefer to not even give them that chance.
