I loved how pure Robin's coming out scene was, and how Steve just instantly accepted her, joking about her dodgy taste in girls!

I lost my brother to a hate crime… I will forever support the rights and lives of the LGBTQ+. Prayers of protection for everyone so that no family has to continue to feel the pain I do by losing a valuable life. We celebrate you all HAPPY PRIDE MONTH 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

As a parent I will never understand how some parents disown their child because they come out as whatever they maybe. I will always love my children no matter

I wish Asexuality and Aomanticism got more focus in media. We are often ignored because we are seen as weird, broken, prude or unfeeling…

My coming out as bi to my family was more "No you're not." and "We're not talking about it." Not heartbreaking, but far from accepting or positive. Like, I wasn't abandoned or disowned, but I was just..ignored. I was treated like I was lying.

Can we appreciate how when Robin came out, Steve didn’t judge her for who she was into, just her taste?

Heartstopper is one of the best shows out there. As a bisexual male, I’m so happy that we got our representation in a correct way🙂🙂🙂🙂

4:40, for a teenage boy... IN THE 80's. He reacted like a hero. People seems to forget the time the show is set in and how LGBTQA+ was percived back then.

i love the stranger things scene because not only is steve a teenager he is a teenager in the 80's, and he had a crush on robin when she told him but instead of getting mad and saying that "he could change that" he accepted her and made a joke. I love their friendship so much

i love how nick’s bisexuality is a massive part of the show and is even stated in the video but he and charlie are still being called “two gay guys”. lmao great recognition there yall

4:36 the “holy shit” reaction from Steve was because it was seen as a bigger deal in the 80s (when the show is set) for anyone wondering. But it’s really good because Steve just takes it in, then instead of asking questions that he no doubt has or making it about him or whatever, he makes a joke because he knows that making Robin feel comfortable and accepted is more important right now.

When my son came out as bisexual to me, it saddened me that he was scared to tell me, because the moment he told me, I gave him all my love and said, “I’m your mom, sweetheart. I already knew. I was just waiting for you to tell me.” I love that wonderful young man SO MUCH!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I LOVE how Steve reacted to Robin coming out. No drama, no questions, just making fun of her lack of taste. Also loved how he supported her through the next season with her new crush

"He's so pure and stupid" Best explanation of Steve😭👏🏿

I feel like people sometimes forget that ST takes place in the 80s so while Steve took a while to process it his positive reaction is wonderful for that time period.

This video is an example of why people should reserve judgment before calling out a lack of representation. Dude saw one scene from Heartstopper and implied it lacked representation…which couldn’t be further from the truth. If you’re gonna judge, at least be semi-informed.

I'm glad to see younger generations are so much more accepting. When I was a teen in the 90s it was way different. My closest friend then was bi but he never came out and I never told anyone because most people were real assholes about homosexuality then. I can't imagine how hard it would be to not be able to be yourself publicly about such an important part of your identity.

I know my opinion may be biased but one of my favorite coming out scenes of all time was in Stranger Things. Steve didn't judge Robin because she liked girls, he judged her for her type (without belittling her. They made it a joke and it was really sweet). That's what a true friendship looks like. I'm really glad that the content being produced nowadays is like this. People need to be able to see someone on TV like them. Whether it be their race, their sexuality, their looks, etc. people should be able to relate to characters on TV and that's exactly what this is.

I don't even watch Stranger Things, but that scene with Will and Mike in the car made me tear up.

Homeboy at 1:45 ...this is literally a graphic novel. I prefer when shows or movies get as close to the story as they can. You literally have one of the best representations of a black trans individual in the show. Her career has skyrocketed because of Heartstopper. Can't our community have anything nice for a change without others in our community bitching about it???
