The best parts about Miiverse was that

1. You had to actually have played the game you're talking about in order to post in the game's community, preventing spam and irrelevant posts.

2. There was no incentive for rage baiting due to the nature of the platform and Nintendo's modestly decent moderation of it, so it was actually pretty enjoyable to browse.

3. Direct interaction with developers, most famously Masahiro's Sakurai's "Pic Of The Day" thing leading up to Smash 4's release, among other things like the Kirby devs posting lore on various characters like Magolor.

It was honestly one of the best social media platforms of all time.

I remember when miiverse was shut down and I had an actual nightmare, where the miis were on my home screen and running screaming for help, then a black force things grabbed the miis on screen teleported to some dark place and smashed the miis everywhere
