How to edit/trim a live stream video on YouTube after it has been published.

In this video, I show you how to use the editor in YouTube Creator Studio to edit your live stream video to trim the start or end of the video.

When you go live on YouTube, it can be difficult to know exactly when the stream starts, and you don't want to start too early and cut off your first words. So most live stream videos end up with at least a few seconds of footage at the start where you are not talking.

The solution is to use YouTube's built-in editor to trim your video's start and end to remove any excess footage, which means that future people watching the video will not see this, and instead jump straight in to the content.

Brilliant Pete! I had already decided the editor button might never appear so put the stream into my video editor. I browsed through your comments whilst rendering that and realised after processing I'll then have two versions of the performance to show; both live-stream and rendered video. The benefit of putting it in the editor is I could re-sync the audio more precisely with my guitar playing, as it can lag slightly when live. To do that, all you do is grab the file it saves in your video folder. I used OBS studio and it saves Matroska files, which can be converted to MP4.
