Mit den ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring (18. – 21.) steht der Höhepunkt der Motorsportsaison auf dem Nürburgring auf dem Programm. 136 Fahrzeuge umfasst das Starterfeld, über 200.000 Zuschauer werden am Rennwochenende rund um die längste permanente Rennstrecke der Welt erwartet. Allein 30 der mächtigen GT3-Boliden von Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG und Porsche mit einer exzellenten internationalen Fahrerbesetzung kämpfen um den Sieg – vielfach mit Werksunterstützung und Piloten aus den Werkskadern. Gigantisch ist auch das Rahmenprogramm mit historischen und aktuellen Rennwagen sowie unzähligen Attraktionen im Fahrerlager und rund um den über 25 km langen Kurs.

I had never made an effort to watch this particular event before and it was interesting to get caught up on the "storyline" with some of the fan favorites here. This was admittedly pretty sad, as this team seemed to be REALLY well liked and even venerated by a few people. Gotta' say though, all the in-car footage from the night was intensely engrossing. This circuit certainly lives up to its infamous reputation!

People here act like the difference in speed between these cars is anything new. I remember watching the 24h as a kid (when it was still interesting) and the grid was full of 90's Golfs, as well as 318IS', Civics and other privateers. Back then we already had absolute monsters in the SP7 class.

Sure the gap in speeds may have widened a bit, but it hasn't gotten THAT much bigger. The mindset of the racers is what has changed.

Auch wenn dieser Motor nicht mehr hergestellt wird, gibt es bestimmt irgendeine Möglichkeit einen gut erhalten motor aus solch einem Modell zu bekommen...

Dacia & Manta only cars that I really appreciate seeing every year we travel from the UK to see this race. The GT3s are great to watch, but I feel they should show a little more respect to the slower cars when the speed difference is so great. So many of the faster cars take real hard risks to overtake slow movers. The Dacia was well off racing line in this and is absolutely not at fault! RIP Dacia, I wish the team the best of luck in rebuilding and returning for next year! ❤️

You have to have balls of steel to enter this race in the Dacia or his class mates, like the Opel Mantra. Especially knowing how reckless the GT3 drive. They don't lift for a second.
