Guide to Harbor Freight Welders: GOOD BETTER BEST!

Which Welder Welds Best! If you like wandering the aisles of Harbor Freight and have wondered if you should pick up one of their welders hopefully this video will help you decide which one to get. Currently I have (4) of their welders, sad I know. Whats worse is i'm not even sponsored by HF, this is all me. Chicago Electric 125 flux core, Titanium 125 Easy Flux, Titanium 170 and 140 Migmax Vulcan. I’ve been pretty impressed with the new line of equipment HF has been putting out. I would say you could easily do a vs with the titanium or Vulcan with a Hobart Handler, Miller 140, or Lincoln 140.

Nice to see how you ranked these. The Titanium series and especially the Flux 125 is an absolute WIN for HF and the Garage Mechanic. I have that along with the 225 and have been beyond impressed with this green beast. It literally does an amazing job with the right spool. But, to see you present - honestly that the Vulcan line, though nice, IS overpriced, was refreshing to see. Some of the Vulcan products are simply over the top in pricing...especially when you can get a fully competent machine for a 1/3 of the price. Don't forget, you should probably add that HF honors 1/2 year warranties, bring it back 2 days before they expire and pay the $35, and get a brand new one... These warranties are BETTER than anything at HD or Lowes hands down.

The little 90amp black color chicago electric is ok for little things.

I have used it for when i was building fence and welded a few broken parts on a garden tractor.

I put a heavier power cord and upgraded the ground clamp also buy better wire like Lincoln or blue demon. Makes a big difference.

Funny years ago I did the AC to DC conversation to my old blue flux box and put a fan on it. It still welds great but seeing them come out with the titanium series glad to see they are upping their game.

Hi, I am welding 1/8 flat bar bent at 90 to 1 x1 1/16 thick square tube cut at a 45 on each end. Making a shelf bracket. I am using .030 wire with HF Flux 125. I am setting it per 1/16 thickness, but i keep burning a hole through square tube. Is it easier to weld thinner metal with a mug welder vs flux ? Thank you

The Titanium 125 looks like a good option for some jobs in the garage, I don’t have a 110v 30amp outlet handy. My garage has 20 amp outlets. What are you all plugging this into?

I got my blue 151amp and the black 170amp don't see a difference between the two. The blue 90amp I like better than the black 125amp welder I just got 4 month ago just not the same to try it in case my old 90amp 110 goes out on me on a rod iron job.
