I can name one player who was World Class and didn't win anything. Socrates! Was an amazing player (according to my father), big legend for Brazil National Team and never won anything. I would even say Antonio Di Natale who is one of Serie A:s greatest forwards, he never won anything because he played for Udinese.

World class players, in my opinion, that never won a trophy: Matt Le Tissier (amazing), Carlos Valderrama, Jermaine Defoe (in his peak and is a legend for Bradley Lowery), Antonio Di Natalie a serie A legend, Paul Gascoigne.(Never won a major trophy).

I rate Icardi, Handanovic, and Nainggolan as world class and none of them have won a trophy however if you have world class ability you usually win some kind of silverware by the end of your career.

So you can only be world class when you've won something? That ruined it for me. You can argue about having to measure players on their trophies and that it's about being efficient, not being good. But the idea of a cup win being the difference between world class or not.. Then you're measuring their goals, and then it's not about trophies.
