Let’s not forget the Atletico Madrid also made it to the 73/74 Champions League, (Called European Cup back then) final against Bayern Munich. The original game saw them hold the lead in extra time, until they conceded a 118th minute late equalizer, sending the game to a replay. Bayern crushed them 4-0 in the replay, and went on to win the next two Champions League’s as well.

Fun Facts: There is a big conspiracy that a big European clubs may only claim the maiden's prize of Champions League when the final was held in Munich. The previous 4 finals held at Bayern's home ground (3 at 1974 Olympic venue and the one in 2012 at the current Allianz Arena) were won by a club that was never won it beforehand such as Nottingham Forest in 1979, Olympique Marseille in 1993, Borussia Dortmund in 1997, and of course, Chelsea in 2012. Borussia Dortmund in 1997 was the very last time that a club had immediately won it after playing the first ever final in the history of the competition. For 2025 final, there is a big chance for PSG to do so, but because no Messi and Neymar, it's an extremely difficult for the club to achieve an impossible dream.

Also, the 1997 final was the very last time that a club had won the Champions League at the country that hosted the final. This was also happened a year before, when Juventus claimed this big prize at Rome's Olympic Stadium. In 2011, Manchester United indeed lost to Pep's Barcelona at Wembley Stadium, despite being a "de facto" host in that final. But, chances one or even two Premier League clubs to play in 2024 final, also held at Wembley, was higher, especially because of Manchester City's domination and possible chances for Arsenal, Manchester United, or Newcastle United to do an impossible thing to progress further with good players.

I think Atletico is the unluckiest club in the UCL finals. In 1974 against Bayern, they lead 1-0 and Bayern come with a corner in the laat minute, they shoul only kick out the ball but it doesnt work, Bayern got an equaliser. In the second meatch Bayern won 4-0.... Alnost exactly happend the same against Real in 2014, last minute, Atletico lead 1-0 and corner for the opponent and they didnt could kick out the ball and loss 4-1 in the extra time. 2016, Clattenburg was with Real because the goal of Ramos' and Griezmanns penalty with the half of the Real players in the box, and then, thye loss on penaltyes... The club and the fans deserv atleast 1 of these 3 finals
