Unfortunately, urban warfare without civilian deaths is impossible. It never existed, it doesn't exist and will never exist. And when Hamas started the war it knew it was going to be an urban war. Moreover, a participant in a war cannot respect the law of war and win the war if the other side doesn't follow the law of war from the start. And Hamas, by using human shields and by building tunnels under hospitals, schools and appartement buildings does exactly that. You can't expect Israelis to just stand and watch Hamas using the electricity of hospitals to make their tunnels work, keeping ammo in blocks with people in them and having tunnel-exists in schools with children in them and do nothing about this because it would cause civilian deaths or be called "collective punishment". They have a war to win and hostages to free. The law of war regulates a duel. But duels can't work unless both fighters wish to fight like in a duel. If one side decides to fight like they would do in a brawl the other will have to fight like in a brawl as well if they want to win. That's how the world works.
