A credit card is NOT required to get your Roku up and running. When creating an account online, you can just close your browser once you get to the page that asks for credit card info. You can then open the browser again and sign in to your Roku account using the credentials you just created. I prefer to setup and pay for my streaming subscriptions directly with the services instead of going through a third party (Roku) to handle my subscription payments. It's also less complicated to not have a third party involved if there is a billing issue or you want to cancel a subscription.

There's actually an official separate sign-up/setup page for making a Roku account without a credit card. It's the one with "/nocc" on the end of the URL.

I have 2 Rokus now and was going to upgrade both except now they won’t stream continuously at night like they did Berne the last update. Is there a fix for this? I mat my watch the roku channel, FrndlyTV and prime. Thank you for any help!

I can't get past the language screen. It restarts after doing the software update and then goes back to the language screen. I never get the continue screen.
