Thank you for vid. I am a novice in Oz so can tune into the products you are suggesting. Yes, I would have pushed down on cement so it would all be one level. I am not sure of the minimum depth the cement has to be to bond but I can see some trial and error here. I am tempted to draw out the pattern or lay out the cut pieces over a large section and then screed out with small notch trowel if possible and do it all at once. Maybe not. Was looking at Red Oak plywood which should be as suitable as Birch ply. I guess I would have to seal that with PVA as well. Looking at making a largish mirror frame.

Products we have used - Prep glue, Weldond. PVA and thin-set (Mosaic Cement) and Davco grout we sell, However you can buy Davco products from Bunning's and the additive we have used in the grout to turn it into an adhesive for the exterior are a Davco brand called Glass Mosaic Additive.
