Another thing you can try for backings is a safety pin!! With a bit of reinforcements they usually stay on (I add a few pieces of glued ribbon to ensure there is more surface area incase the glue breaks from the pin) but I love the idea of using tape!! Super cool!!

you can get stud earring backs at a craft store. It just seems like the thumb tack is too tall

My local library has a free pin making machine in the teen room! You are limited to 5 pins per visit per person though. Still one of my favorite things to do downtown

Hey don't do this, the hole in the hot glue ball will stretch out quickly and the backing will fall off. Pin backs are cheap

You could also use earring backs or even pin backs. They are super cheap at craft stores. 😊

EDIT : I Tried it, its hard to get the glue off of the surface But cutting it out is REALLY easy, i made 2 already

i make a small puddle of hot glue, like around 2cm in length and width, and when it cools down i paint over it and make cute pride pins!

do NOT use a hot glue backing if its on something that will or could rub up against your skin because the end of the the push pin will go through the hot glue if enough force is applied
