The Cybertruck is probably the most awaited model for Tesla fans. The release of this 100% electric pickup from the Texan manufacturer, which was supposed to be released in 2021, has been subject to numerous delays.

But it seems that this time, its arrival is confirmed more and more. From now on, it's no longer a question of years, but of a few months before its release.

The construction of the Giga Press that will help produce the Cybertruck has indeed been completed by IDRA Group.

This machine with an impressive molding force will be installed at the Giga Texas.

So, what do you need to know about this new Giga Press?
How does Tesla plan to use it to produce the Cybertruck?

It's this kind of innovation that will continue to make Tesla unassailable. Elon's fearless in going after the very best way of doing things.

Elon Musk has the innovative ideas, desires, financial capacity, and systems mentality to act as the pathfinder for the industries he prefers to engage in. Putting a sufficient amount of financial energy into the hands of the right person with the vision, engineering knowledge, and ability to lead will give others in their industries the guts to pursue similar visions of their own and providers of the financial energy to invest in those ideas something to point to in assembling that energy and disbursing it wisely. He is not only the pathfinder for mechanical innovation but the pathfinder for others to emulate. The key is that Elon has the right motive driving him to achieve these goals.

Full chassis (or undercarriage) from Mega Press. Some exotic sports car have a one piece carbon fiber body that fits over the frame. The two could be united like a clamshell, for doors, windows and lids to be added. Number of parts is further decreased. But could it be diecast with a beehive substructure to add strength to weight ratio. Some racing sailing boats have very interesting composite structures. You would expect supper strength from a body skin that might be hard to repair.

nice stuff it is the future of automobile manufacturing

Terrifying how many people don't realize how horrible this would be for repairability! Replacing a bunch of modular, replaceable parts with one huge piece would make repairs a nightmare.

So is it any wonder the annual insurance premium on a Model Y is between 3 and 4 times a comparable ICE.

_Certainly, this is the new way to manufacturing._

The Model 2 would be the perfect proof of concept for a single structural casting. #2S3XY

I see a car made completely pressed, probably with fibre reinforced plastic. Just makes sense. Cheap, easy, safe and provides revenue for BIG OIL or recycling of current plastic stocks.

Im looking forward to the Terra press ;)

Innovative, ground-breaking, and paradigm-shifting are all words to describe the advances, by those who understand automobile design and manufacturing. For those of us who have to buy and repair those vehicles, I see a massive assembly that can only be produced by Tesla on one machine. This bottleneck means that when someone wrecks a brand-new Tesla, the repairs will only be possible through one source of parts and one of the Authorized Tesla Shops.

What about welding - if an accident damaged body part should be changed - does this cast alloy welds? I have some doubts. will it be another throw-away product, which can't be repaired?

Is this exoskeleton, what is normally called a monocoque body?

OK. Now, who creates the dies for each model ?
I haven't heard this addressed. :-/

I am so glad to see the other car makers get their a##es handed to them by Tesla. I am an old guy and I remember in 1955 drooling over the prototype cars in Popular Mechanics and Popular Science and those lazy companies never brought a truly state of the art to market. Elon Musk took every modern automotive invention known to man and put it into that truck. And now he is moving forward to create new automotive inventions. But what separates Musk from the rest of these drones is that he actually produced a modern car for sale. And in the most outrageous display of badassery, he put it all in an instruction book and sent it to the other carmakers.

😅 Good luck with that 😄 !!! they already have big difficulties to make giga-castings...then only recently the idea to cast the whole chassis in once has been or cancelled, or postponed...so the whole car body...not sure what they were thinking. just one comment: After few thousands parts cast, the die inserts will start to show cracks, it's a given in aluminium pressure diecasting, that means there will visual defect on the part, so, some polishing will be needed, and the older the die get, the more cracks will show up in the die. So unless people are ready to have cars with some kind of wrinkles all over the body, it will cost a massive amount of money to remove them by polishing...then technically, I have about 40 years experience in High pressure die casting, including many years behind the machines, on the floor, to produce and make good parts...and to make such big parts with mechanical properties and cosmetic requirement, good luck. Tesla or not, there are some laws of physics that can't be ignored.
